SYSTEMS SOFTWARE / OPEN SOURCE

Software you
can look inside.

We build foundational infrastructure from scratch — compiled, inspectable and self-hostable. Made to be understood, owned and put to work.

OUR WORK / 01

A foundation
for what comes next.

Tools and infrastructure designed to be examined, tested and built upon.

OPEN SOURCE   /   COMPILER TOOLCHAIN

pcc.

A compiler toolchain,
built in Python.

THE MOST MATURE PATH

From C to LLVM IR.

pcc's C frontend lowers C to LLVM IR and runs real third-party projects, including Lua, SQLite, PostgreSQL libpq, zlib, PCRE, OpenSSL and nginx.

LuaSQLitelibpqzlibPCREOpenSSLnginx
01

Three-stage self-hosting bootstrap with no libpython.

02

Five comparative garbage collection backends selectable at startup.

03

An in-tree native backend that emits code without LLVM.

A note on scope. pcc is a research compiler with practical integration tests, not a drop-in replacement for Clang or CPython.

BUILT ON PCC / 02

From foundation
to application.

Projects exploring what can be built on the pcc runtime and toolchain.

01 / DESKTOP

pcc-gui

A declarative desktop GUI framework written in pcc-Python and compiled to native code by pcc. It brings together a retained element tree, a bounded style grammar, layout, theme animation, CoreGraphics/Metal drawing and an AppKit window bridge.

Currently macOS on Apple silicon; no libpython at runtime.

02 / NETWORKING

pcc-gateway

A virtual-thread gateway built on the pcc runtime: an HTTP/1.1 server, reverse proxy, DNS and TLS provider.

Recently extracted from the compiler core and still moving; build it against an installed pcc.

OUR APPROACH / 03

Understanding
is the point.

We believe foundational software should be inspectable and self-hostable — with claims you can check by running it.
